Who We Are

Women’s Canadian Club is a non-profit, non-political, non-partisan and non-sectarian organization; and it welcomes women and men as members.

Our Mission:

Women’s Canadian Club, London, Ontario is a membership-based speakers organization providing monthly meetings on topics dedicated to preserving our Canadian identity, increasing our interest in matters affecting the welfare of our country, informing us about Canada’s part in world affairs and acknowledging the outstanding accomplishments of young people in our community.

We believe:

  • in Canada,
  • that it is important to provide a forum and audience for passionate speakers,
  • in broadening our minds by learning about many diverse topics,
  • that it is important to foster an interest in public affairs,
  • in cultivating an understanding of Canadian culture,
  • in providing a forum for global issues, and
  • in supporting the youth in our community.

Upcoming – March 9, 2023, Renee VanderHarst, Manager of Volunteer Services Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario at the Doubletree by Hilton Hotel, 300 King Street, London, 2 p.m. – 3 p.m.

Renee VanderHarst – How our Volunteers Help Us Build Community

Renee is the Manager of Volunteer Services with Habitat for Humanity Heartland Ontario, which serves six counties in southern Ontario; Brant, Elgin, Middlesex, Norfolk, Oxford and Perth. She has three diplomas; Broadcasting, Public Relations, and Volunteer management. Her first experience with Habitat for Humanity was as a volunteer, sanding drywall in a home in Simcoe, Norfolk County. That home was going to family that she knew through her involvement with Big Brothers Big Sisters.

Renee has always believed that “where you live isn’t your community unless you do something to make it a better place.” That is lesson she and her husband work hard to pass on to their two children Jimmy 14, and Leona 11.

Wearing a mask at this event is strongly encouraged, based on the recommendation by Ontario’s Chief Medical Officer of Health for indoor gatherings.

This presentation will be livestreamed for your convenience. A link will be emailed to members on Wednesday March 8th.

Single tickets will be available for $25 and full memberships for $85 at the membership tables on the second floor lobby from 1:00p.m. until 1:45p.m. Previous single ticket purchasers will receive a credit of $25 towards the purchase of a full membership.
