What is the Women’s Canadian Club, London, Canada?

The Canadian Club movement had its origins in Hamilton in 1892 with a group of men who wanted to be better informed about Canadians. They first gathered to discuss Canadian issues and ideals of Confederation and to implement Canadian spirit.

In 1897, the idea spread to Toronto, and very soon became a movement spanning the country. In 1910, The Women’s Canadian Club of London was formed with Lady Elizabeth Gibbons as its first President. It is a unique movement which celebrates Canadian people and culture while preserving and promoting Canadian heritage and history.
